Joel has been eating well (and smearing food well too!). Also, check out the teeth in the picture.

Ok, so here is some fun car stuff: Anne's Corolla has been throwing check engine lights, which (yes, I am justifying the use of the scanning hardware) decodes to P0171 (mixture too lean). Stories like these made me think I was in for an expensive new mass-airflow sensor (MAF). Nope, a few cents of brake cleaner being liberally squirted on the inside of the sensor (on the two wire thingys that are covered in dirt, not on the drop of dried glue looking thing) and it is squeaky clean and as good as new. It took all of 10 minutes to do. I hope someone searches for this problem and finds this answer. This cheapo technique saved us a lot of time and trouble. It is nice to have the car running like new again.

In other car news, Randy will be coming over for a "fix everything on my Mustang that is not in the engine bay" party on Saturday. We will be installing some almost-OEM springs (his are actually broken!), some new shocks/struts, and new rotors/pads. Casey will be up to help too! Please feel free to stop by if you are bored on Saturday and want to see three sweaty guys hammering on brake rotors and screaming at rusty control arm bolts!
