This is the due date...and she is still hanging out inside Anne. The good news is that Anne is still feeling fine and that her body is making final preparations (effacing, dilation, staging)--and having these done now should shorten labor considerably.

Stay tuned. We are still living life like normal, but I am monitoring the cell phone a lot. Wow, we are excited!

In other news, we had a good time this weekend with Sal, Eric, Randy, and Ruth over. It was wonderful to hear that Ruth got stared at during her 3rd grade "presidents of the USA" song when people got to RUTHerford B Hayes. It makes me realize that ALL names can fall victim to elementary school goofballs. We can feel free to name her ANYTHING and she will have those problems. We are still on "Amelia" and "Gretchen" for the girl names.

  • Yay! I am the first responder, and I have this to say:

Hurry up Baby Berg! We want to see a picture of you already!

To Anne & Neil: this is not a good precedent to set early in the Baby Berg''s life. Punctuality is important.

If the Baby is late now, it may be late for future events (birthday parties, graduation ceremonies, job interviews). So nip it in the bud and have the Baby ALready!

    Best wishes from the Bobbhari

  • I was expecting her to take after me and to be 10 minutes late!

I will cut her some slack though. I don't know what kind of calendar she is using in there.

Still no baby as of 10pm!

  • I'm glad the misery of my youth could be of help to you, Anne & baby!

Is baby here yet or what? It's Friday & we're all excited & curious!!!!

  • nope, she's still in there. i've been trying to talk her into coming, but she's holding out for a bit longer.

we all want our kids to have independent minds, right? well, mine is just starting early...

the midwife yesterday said that the baby is perfectly happy in there. i have another appointment on monday if she's not yet here.

the average first baby is born at 41 weeks and 1 day. i hope she doesn't wait that long, but it would put her at next thursday for being "normal".

i'll keep trying to coax her out, although i've tried a bunch of the folk remedies (the ones that aren't potentially harmful, that is!).
